Admission
and Requirements
a.
Undergraduate Programme
Full - time System
The University accepts those who have
-
graduated from a high school and passed an national entrance
examination arranged by Vietnam National University (VNU).
-
Obtained an associate bachelor degree in the same field of study,
or a bachelor degree in the similar field, and passed an entrance examination
arranged by VNU.
Part - time System
These programmes are available to those who have
graduated from a high school and passed an entrance examination
arranged by Hanoi University of Science (HUS).
-
Received an associate bachelor degree in the same field of study,
or a bachelor degree in the similar field, and passed an entrance examination
arranged by HUS.
Honour Programme for Talented Bachelor of Science
This programme is available to exceptional high school students after a thorough
evaluation of their academic performance, admission test scores, and other
criteria.
Automatic Admission
Students, who have graduated from a high school with a outstanding certificate,
are automatically admitted to full - time programme.
Exceptional high school students, who were participants of international
olympiads or won first prize at national competitions, are automatically
enrolled in honour programme for talented BSc
b.
High School for Gifted Students
-
High School for Gifted Students in Mathematics, Informatics, Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology accepts pupils, who have gained excellent results in
secondary school years, excellently graduated from secondary school and have
passed an entrance examination arranged by HUS.
c. Postgraduate Programme
Master's Programme
An applicant for this programme must meet one of the following
requirements:

Those who have received a bachelor degree in the same field of
study with high grade or better.
-
Those who have received a bachelor degree in the same field of
study with average grade, and have got at least two-year work experience.
Applicants must pass National Entrance Examination arranged by VNU.
Doctoral Programme
An applicant for this programme must meet one of the following requirements:

Those who have received a master degree in the same field of study
and have got at least one publication.
-
Those who have received a bachelor degree in the same field of
study with high grade or better, and have got at least two publications.
Applicants must pass National Entrance Examination arranged by VNU.
Automatic Admission
-
Those
who have obtained a bachelor degree with outstanding certificate, are
automatically admitted to master’s programme.
-
Those
who have received a master’s degree with exceptional academic
performance, are automatically admitted to doctoral programme.
Research
Activities by Undergraduate Students
-
The University not
only provides good educational opportunities, but also encourages research and
creative activities carried out by undergraduate students. The University
provides the opportunity for undergraduates to involve in research projects.
Faculty members in various fields are ready to share their expertise and assist
the students with research projects.

The
University has founded a fund for the promotion of science and
technology. This fund is granted to students’ research projects.
Many fine undergraduate students’ works recognized by
the University, and the Faculty competitions each year. In the
period from 1999 to 2001 there were 562 student's works, of which 80
fine works have been awarded, among them 30 excellent works have won
the awards of Ministry of Education and Training.

undergraduate students. All scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and
